It’s All Fun, Games, and war at the Bloodberry Festival
The yearly Bloodberry festival is a place for survivors to gather at a secluded little location known as the Heart and hang back. While the origin’s of the Bloodberry Festival stretch back to pre-fall times, what the strains of humainty celebrate today is quite different. Especially this year. This year, the Eclipse have taken ahold of the closest town to the Heart, Resilience New Phobus. Our new overlords have graciously allowed the residents of the Anvil to celebrate this year. After all, getting all of the rebellious citizens in one place sounds like a great way to wipe them all out for good.
What the Eclipse do not know is that the Bloodberry Festival is only a front. While celebrations will happen, generals, troop leaders, and political movers will gather under the guidance of Emberforge and their allies to plan out a war against the invaders. This will be done on a large war map that will be played in real-time. Troops will respond to movment orders, hold objectives, clash with Strain threats, zed, and raiders alike. Those at the helm of the war table will have complete control over the forces of the Anvil. Their very survival depends on the actions taken during the war game. Find new allies during the event to put more pieces on the board, make a ‘poor’ move and have that one faction that your character hates get wiped out, and everything in-between.
Not everything at the Bloodberry Festival will be so high-stakes. In order to sell to the Eclipse that we certianly are NOT operating as the headquarters of the rebels, we have to party. The Bloodberry Festival has several rituals that will run over the weekend.
THE MASQUEARDE HOOTNANY - a semi-formal event where the only real dress code is to wear a mask of some type. Big-wigs of all types will make it to the event, trade secrets, root out spys, offer support in the war, and of course, dance, baby, dance.
THE ANVIL SERIES OF POKER (ASP) - A high-stakes card game that takes place in a backroom somewhere… it’s usually invite-only, but if you have the right connections, you might just end up winning a small fortune.
THE EMBERLIGHT FUNDRAISER AUCTION - The Emberlights will be holding an auction for those displaced by the Eclipse.
CEREMONIAL COMBAT - Each year, the nine pillar faiths elect a champion to fight in a ceremonial combat against the other pillars. The winning faith gets a large prize pool in the end.
THE BLOODBERRY FEAST - a potluck style feast that each faith helps bring to life.
THE KIDNEY-TAKER MEMORIAL SHRINE CONTEST - Each pillar faith will be tasked with making their shrine the biggest, best, and most impresive for a panel of judges. The winner of the contest gets the coveted Kidney-Taker Memorial Trophy to display for the following year.
