Cobb
“The City of Revolution”
“We were once a great and prosperous species, before it all came tumbling down. I like to think that one day we will have that prosperity again. One day they will look at Cobb and see that this was the heartbeat of that time.” -Lorretta “Lucky” Shumaker
A Red Star enclave located to the west of the Anvil, Cobb is a relatively isolationist and militaristic settlement and a long-standing member of the Hammer Inlet Coalition.
Little is known about the internal workings or politics of Cobb since its population is notoriously close-mouthed about such matters. Given the identification of past representatives by military rank, it is believed they have a military-structured government, but this is merely supposition. In truth, Cobb has no one leader as all matters are presented to the people and voted on. There are four heads that oversee daily operations in the city.
Cobb has a reliance on the Hammer Inlet Coalition to supply food, raw materials, and power to the town. In exchange, Cobb gives manufactured materials like ingots of metals fresh from their factory lines. This symbiotic relationship benefits everyone in the region. Cobb also has a very well trained and outfitted military, which some people say comes from generations of living in a heavy pre-fall military area.
Non-Redstars who visit are permitted to stay in a small encampment inside their walls that is away from their factories and training grounds. It’s not that the residents don’t like non-Redstars, they simply don’t trust anyone else to not spy on them or steal their trade secrets. Only after years of trust building can another strain be allowed into their inner walls.
