The Third Place
The City of Rest
“We all came from places we don’t talk about. We may have never called a place home in our youth, but here, we can finally find our rest." - Pilgrim Guillotine, Tainted farmer
The Third Place has a brutal history, tainted by the grief and loss of the first home many Tainted within Emberforge left behind in the Booming Bay Necropolis. The Resting Place started in the remnants of a long-abandoned home of two young people in love, only to be consumed by the greed and painful naïveness of human folly. There are no memories of the past here, no roots from the past to return to, no echoes of what could have been, what might be made.
And yet, a pack of Tainted and their families have gathered here and forged a new home. One where memories can be made. Where roots have been firmly established. Where those who need a place to call home can rest their heads, throw themselves into their work, and build a life for themselves, free of the restraints of Steelbridge’s rigid social structures or the Hazeland’s endless chaos.
A series of buildings in a horseshoe shape, centered around a wide open area for rides to park, and with an expansive ‘Back Yard’constantly running races, the Third Place has several locations of interest, all serving to feed the steady stream of rides, foot-slogging travelers, puttering airships and very, very lost boats.
Most Common Strains
Tainted dominate the population as the permanent residents in town, but Diesel Jocks and other Nomads make up a close second, but never stay too long. Finally, Retrogrades make their homes here en masse.
Least Common Strains
Quiet Folk, Purebloods, and Nature Ones are hard to find in The Third Place for obvious reasons.
Most Common Faiths
Tribes of the Seasons and the Nuclear Family make up a good portion of the faithful in town.
Least Common Faiths
Final Knights, Fallow Hopes, and Telling Visionists have almost no presence. Their ‘bullshitery’ is not really tolerated by the locals.
Important People
Dr. Carrion Elsewhere - The undisputed leader and founder of the town. A brutal Tainted that Simply wished to retire away from the harsher parts of life.
Panther & Leopard - Tainted Twins who ensure the day-to-day operations of The Third Place get done. Carrion’s right AND left hands.
Knuckle Reduction - A Diesel Jock without a ride, but with a permanent bed at the Third place. This Nomad is in charge of the raceway and has been tasked with upkeeping the Die-99.
